Serrano Scoop Story

We started our blog when we found out we were pregnant with Landon. Our goal was and still is to keep you all up to date with our family happenings. We failed miserably almost one and a half years ago. So we're trying again.

How Landon sleeps...

During the first few weeks, it was difficult to get Landon to sleep at night. He was not comfortable in his crib, primarily because he spit up badly when on his back. Apparently, laying in your own spit up causes insomnia. We tried to use a wedge to incline him, but he was so spastic that he managed to wiggle off of it in minutes. Then he would spit up, and we were back to square one.

Around the same time, we discovered he loved being in his car seat and would fall asleep very easily in it when out on a drive. For several nights, Landon and I would take moonlit trips up and down the new freeway in Carson. It worked to perfection and also gave Hannah some uninterrupted sleep.

Of course, there is no way I was going to take him out of his car seat to lay in his crib, so the car seat went out of the car and right into the crib. The car seat also kept the boy upright which helped alleviate much of the spit up issue.

He continues to sleep in his car seat. It is his safe place, and we plan to go with it for awhile.

The deadly combination of car seat and dryer vibration. Landon never had a chance.
