Serrano Scoop Story

We started our blog when we found out we were pregnant with Landon. Our goal was and still is to keep you all up to date with our family happenings. We failed miserably almost one and a half years ago. So we're trying again.

Great-Grandma's 85th Birthday

In June, we celebrated Great-grandma Shirley's 85th birthday. She is still as beautiful as ever!

Nick Turns 30

The family got together at Outback Steakhouse to celebrate the Big 3-0 for Nick. It was a great time!

Turner's Surgery

Our dog, Turner, had to have surgery to redo both of his back knees. It was a tough first night as Hannah and I had to split time sleeping on the floor with him. He has recovered well though and is a brand new puppy.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day, the Scherers, Serranos, and Armstrongs were happy to meet the Zives out at Hidden Valley Country Club for an amazing brunch.

Caribbean Cruise

During the first week of May, Hannah and I went on a cruise out of Miami to the Caribbean. The ports of call were the Bahamas, US Virgin Islands, Grand Turk, and Puerto Rico. We had an amazing and relaxing time and we ate like champions. The Mongolian Grill could not be avoided nor could the chocolate melting cake at dessert each night.

In the Bahamas, we relaxed on Carnival's private island. In the Virgin Islands, we went on an island experience tour that had fun stops and amazing views. We went kayaking and exploring in Grand Turk, and finally, enjoyed Old Puerto Rico (our favorite stop).

A big thanks to the Zives for watching Landon, so that Hannah and I could catch up on our sleep...and marriage!

Big Bath

In April, Landon made his move to the big bath. He could sit up, and frankly, he had no chance of fitting anywhere else. He is a big boy!

Reno Aces Baseball

Along with Grandma and Grandpa Scherer, we got season tickets to the Reno Aces, a Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. It is a blast that is always topped off with wonderful ballpark food like Kettle Korn and soft serve ice cream.

Sweet hat!

Trip to Vegas

At the beginning of April, the family headed down to Vegas with the Scherers. We met up with old friends, did some celebrating, and Nick attended a conference. It was a fun jaunt to the South.

While in Vegas we celebrated Hannah's 31st birthday. Yummy ice cream cake...

Landon also celebrated his first Easter, but was not that excited about it (yeah right).

Sheer joy riding in the swing for the first time!

Disneyland

After the NCAA trip, Nick met up with the family in Southern California, and along with Hannah's parents, took Landon to Disneyland for the first time. Of course, this trip was more for us as everything to Landon was just big and noisy. He was an absolute trooper though. He took in all the sights and nodded off when he needed to. We were very proud of him and gained some great memories.

Thought we had it! It would be good to be the King.

NCAA Trip to San Jose

This year's annual trip to March Madness took us to San Jose, CA. The boys took in six basketball games, drove down to Monterrey to take in the sights and play golf, and for some, an additional round of golf at Cinnabar Hills.

The games were amazing, some of the best we have ever seen. Grant was a great host and it was just another amazing trip. Looking forward to Tucson in 2011!

Visiting Palm Desert

In mid-March, Hannah and Landon went to Palm Desert to visit Grandma and Grandpa Zive. They had a wonderfully relaxing time and cannot wait to do it again next year.
