Serrano Scoop Story
We started our blog when we found out we were pregnant with Landon. Our goal was and still is to keep you all up to date with our family happenings. We failed miserably almost one and a half years ago. So we're trying again.

Nick's Man-Shower
While the ladies giggled and played silly games at the baby shower, us men battled on the links at Wolf Run Golf Club. The Man-shower got going at 8am on the golf course...wait, 8:30am...nope, roughly 9am. Aside from the first tee being very backed up, the day would turn out great. We had three foursomes full of family and friends. The weather was perfect and the course was in very good shape. However, the day was highlighted by my friend Grant. He is a very good player who had never broken par, but he came out that day and shot a one under 71. He could not stop smiling.
Following our rounds, all the guys met up in the clubhouse for lunch and to see how the bets would be paid out. We had a blind two man draw for teams and fortunately I drew Grant and his great round. We easily won first place. Following some food and paying each other some cash, it was time for the guys to learn the name of our child. We played a simple game where they had to guess the first and middle names. About every two minutes I gave hints. Ken Mattison was the first to guess the middle name, and Scott, my step-dad, was the first to guess the whole name: Landon Noah Serrano.
Finally, they brought out some great presents. These included a baby tool belt which I am sporting in the picture above. It was packed full of baby essentials. I also got some great gear for Landon including outfits of my favorite sports teams (Giants, Spurs, and Cowboys), a fly fishing vest, a Psych onesie (my favorite TV show), and some golf outfits. The funniest gift was the Pee-pee Tee-pees that I am supposed to toss on his privates when I change him so I do not get wet. All in all it was a fantastic day, and I am very appreciative for all the love and support!
And his name is....
Landon Noah. August 15 was the baby shower at Red Hawk Golf Club and it was amazing. Beth, Serena, Sheri, Aubrey and my mom all worked very hard to make my dream shower come true.
The games were great. The ladies competed in the "bottle sucking challenge" to see who could down blue gatorade the fastest (this game caught the attention of golfers passing by - one foursome actually stopped to see who would win). Crystal Gaudette was the victor! Everyone also competed in the "scavenger hunt." Approximately 25 baby items were scattered around the area and the one with the most items, and correct description of each, won. Gina Serrano came out on top! "My water broke" was another game where all the ladies were given a cup covered with mesh with a hole in the center. An ice cube with a frozen baby was placed in the hole, the lady who's baby fell into the cup first yelled, "my water broke" and was deemed the winner. Aunt LuAnn ran away with this one! Everyone also participated in the "nursery rhyme challenge." Pam Robinson took first place! And then, the most anticipated game of the day, "Baby of Fortune." All the women were placed into teams of 8 and each team had a turn to guess a letter and then guess the name. After a few rounds, the winning team solved the puzzle - Welcome Landon Noah. The team included Mollie, Bri, Olivia, Theresa, Shelly, Carolyn and Heather!
The setting for the shower was ideal - on a golf course on a beautiful day! The decorations were perfect and those cupcakes - awesome!! I have the most wonderful family and friends any girl could ask for. Thank you for all the gifts - Nick and I are so grateful.
